1. Search engine optimization means optimizing for search engines. But what really?
Here are the market shares of the major search engines (Germany / Central):
1. Google ~ 85%
2. Yahoo ~ 3%
3. MSN ~ 2.5%
4. T-Online ~ 2%
5. AOL ~ 1.5%
(4 +5 place relate their data from Google, whose market share is around 90%!)
2. Forget search engines record software that enables your site for 10,000
search engines can sign. 99.9% of them are virtually meaningless, a
search-entry is therefore a waste of time.
3. On the main search engine to your site is not really necessary. If your
site is linked at least once somewhere, it will sooner or later from
alone in the search engine index arise, without search engines entry.

- How relevant is your site for searching topic?
- How often is it from other websites?
- Are the Web sites of competitors also optimized?
- How much are subjects relevance and link popularity of the competition?
